Hi folks, I saw the discussion in the other forum thread (viewtopic.php?f=6&t=36), where someone else reported problems getting MuteOnLock to work with Windows 7 64 bit. I had the same problem.
I saw you mention to "activate the Windows Compatibility Mode feature and set it to Windows XP". I haven't yet had to do that so wasn't positive what to do, but I found the Windows 7 option (in the Start menu) labelled "Run programs made for previous versions of Windows", and on running it I did select Mute On Lock. After doing that, it still didn't work on lock, though I will note that it did at least mute when I right-clicked on the status tray for Mute On Lock and chose "muted". It wasn't doing that before I ran that compatibility change.
But is that in fact what you wanted us to run? Or something else? And is it possible that it will require a restart of the OS for it to now work? I did exit and restart the app. Unfortunately, restarting my machine is a fair bit of work (may not get to do it today), so I wanted to leave this message here in the meantime, both in case you may have a thought and also to help others who may come looking for this problem.
As others noted in the other thread, thanks for the quick support you've offered so far, and of course thanks for the tool. It's definitely one of those things that you'd think would be an option in the OS. I could see some wanting to *not* mute on lock, but others who would. Nice to have the option.
