Possible bug - Audio Speed Changer Pro 1.0

Postby jrcasc » Fri Apr 23, 2010 12:30 am

I downloaded this pgm from Giveaway of the Day. I have used it to time-compress various podcasts by 32 percent, which I then transfer to my iPod via CopyTrans Manager.

I have noticed that podcasts downloaded and converted from MSNBC.com will stop for a few seconds, then skip forward to the next selection, skipping over the rest of the podcast. This has always happened during pauses/silences in the original (unconverted) podcast. If I return to the point where the playback stops, then manually scroll forward a few seconds, the playback will resume until the next "speed bump."

This does not happen with podcasts from other sources - including sources that. like MSNBC, use FhG encoding.

I previously used AV Player Morpher with good results, though the pgm itself seems a bit "ragged," and has more features than I need.

Hello jrcasc.

Could you send me podcast files, or links to the problem audio files to the e-mail address, at: contact <at> superutils <dot> com?

Hello again, jrcasc. Thank you for the links and explanations!

I downloaded those podcasts issued on April 23rd, 2010, tried various Audio Speed Changer options (with speeding up and w/o it), but did not spot any problems with results. I also noticed that the original file n_maddow_netcast_100423.mp3 has some strange delays at 13:20—13:30. Is this a problem that you mean?

What exactly settings did you use (especially when you could not start playing on your iPod)? Could you please give us more details of what and how did you convert? If it is possible, could you send me original and converted files by e-mail, and point out where the problem is?
